Dr. Vij established the Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Sciences division within the Fortis Hospitals group, launching a highly successful liver transplant program initially at the Noida center, followed by its expansion to Mohali. Under his leadership, his team has performed over 2,500 liver transplants, achieving a remarkable 95% patient success rate and a 100% donor success rate, with most of these surgeries performed at Fortis Hospital, Noida. His expertise has led to the lowest biliary complication rate (<4%) in Living Donor Liver Transplant (LDLT) worldwide.
