About Dr. Gaurav Gupta

• Dr. Gaurav Gupta is a highly trained Abdominal Organ Transplant and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) surgeon specializing in liver and pancreas transplants. Having completed his MBBS and MS at Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, Dr. Gupta further honed his skills in transplant surgery at esteemed institutions in the United States, including the University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, and UCLA. His extensive experience includes over 300 liver transplants as the primary surgeon and the successful establishment of three liver transplant centers in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
• Before joining Fortis Mulund, Dr. Gupta held positions at Fortis Escorts, Wockhardt Hospitals, and Apollo Hospital. Among his notable achievements are performing liver transplants in infants, achieving a 96% one-year survival rate for Fortis Mulund’s liver transplant program, and performing Mumbai’s first combined liver and kidney transplant in 2016. His expertise also includes ABO-incompatible liver transplants. Dr. Gupta has received multi-organ transplant training, including fellowships in abdominal and pediatric transplant surgery at leading centers in the U.S., which underscores his commitment to advancing transplant care.
