About Dr. Amrita Kapoor Chaturvedi

Dr. Amrita Kapoor Chaturvedi is a highly experienced senior ophthalmologist who completed her medical education (MBBS, MD) at the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. She also holds the distinguished title of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd).
Following her undergraduate studies at AIIMS, Dr. Amrita specialized in ophthalmology at the prestigious Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS. She subsequently served as a Senior Resident in the Glaucoma, Squint, and Neuro-ophthalmology departments for three years, where she independently managed specialty clinics and contributed to the surgical, medical, and academic functions of these subspecialties. Afterward, she worked as a Senior Research Associate at the same institution, focusing on Oculoplasty, Pediatric Ophthalmology, and Ocular Oncology. In this role, she played a key part in the Retinoblastoma Clinic at the Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (IRCH), contributing to the diagnosis, staging, and management of children with retinoblastoma, while maintaining her clinical and surgical expertise.
In 2007, Dr. Amrita transitioned to Visitech Eye Centre in New Delhi, where she served as a Senior Consultant for over 15 years. During this period, she developed significant expertise in treating primary and complex glaucoma cases, as well as conditions involving squint, pediatric eye diseases, and neuro-ophthalmology. She performed numerous surgeries on challenging glaucoma cases, utilizing advanced techniques such as valve implantation and other drainage procedures. Additionally, she is skilled in cataract surgery, employing both phacoemulsification and extracapsular cataract extraction techniques.
